Inter-Library Loans

If material essential to your research is not owned by the Library, use the Inter-Library Loans service to request materials from other libraries. Before placing a request:

Submit an Inter-Library Loan request

Tip: Choose the type of material you are requesting from the drop-down menu on the request form before you fill in the remaining fields.

Tip: If you need more than one article from a single conference or journal issue/volume, please request the entire proceedings volume or journal issue/volume. This is to comply with copyright regulations.

Tip: If your request is for the purpose of commercial / funded research or to include material on the VLE, you must indicate this by selecting "Yes" for copyright clearance. The Library will contact you with cost details. If you wish to proceed, we will ask you to supply the cost code that is to be debited.

Important changes to the way you access your document

From Friday 1 June 2018, the way the British Library delivers your interlibrary loans has changed. You will need to create an account with the British Library On Demand Service before you can open and print your document. Please see this document for further information.
